Stable Correction

As we grow, our eyes also grow and it is not until we reach our twenties that our prescriptions become stable. Most clinics prefer to wait until a person has reached his/her twenties before performing laser eye surgery. For some professions good uncorrected vision is essential and the age to enrol is often 18 (Police, Military etc.). Laser vision correction is now acceptable in the armed forces, police and fire department and for those who need good vision for their careers, we are happy to use our discretion and peform surgery on those aged 18 and above.

Consultation

A thorough consultation is vital and at Centre for Sight this is ALWAYS carried out by an eye surgeon. This thorough evaluation that can take several hours includes a wide range of diagnostic tests to ensure your eyes are completely healthy - probably the most thorough eye examination of your life.

At the end of the appointment your surgeon will recommend which treatment is best for you. If IntraLASIK is felt not to be best for your consultant will be able to recommend an equally safe and effective alternative.

General Guidelines

IntraLASIK is able to treat prescriptions ranging from +5 diopters (longsight/hyperopia) through to -15 diopters (shortsight/myopia), and up to +5 diopters astigmatism. Four versions of IntraLASIK are available and following consultation your consultant will inform you which he/she feels is most beneficial to you specifially.

Fees are not calculated based on prescription and requiring a high level of correction does not necessarily mean you would need the most expensive treatment.

Global Fee - no hidden extras

Fees are total and include your surgery, medication, follow-up care for a year after surgery and where necessary (rarely) enhancements. We also offer 0% finance options.
