FEMTOSECOND LASER LAMELLAR KERATOPLASTY (FSLK)

fslk

This procedure is similar to the Automated Lamellar Therapeutic Keratoplasty above however uses the precision of the Intralase Femtosecond Laser to cut the cornea. The Intralase laser has been popularised for the creation of flaps in Lasik (IntraLASIK). The laser is very precise and can cut the cornea to perform a partial thickness or lamellar keratoplasty but cutting at a variety of depths and diameters. The procedure has now almost completely replaced the ALTK procedure at Centre for Sight.
