The IntraLASIK program offered by Centre for Sight was developed by our founder who was amongst the first to perform the LASIK laser surgery procedure in the United Kingdom. Having performed LASIK since 1995, we have an exemplary track record in this ever-increasing market sector and can provide the utmost in pre-operative and post-operative care for our patients. In addition to our track record of expertise and knowledge of eye laser surgery, SAFETY is one of our fundamental concerns and the reason for purchasing expensive technology like Intralase. Several options for laser eye surgery are available including Tissue savings and custom correction.

As one of our core values, we place this issue at the top of the list. We do not compromise on safety and your safety is of paramount importance. For instance we are the only centre in the UK to use Intralase a sophisticated laser to make the corneal flap thus dubbed IntraLASIK. This improves safety of laser eye surgery avoiding serious flap complications. Additionally unlike other providers we have ALWAYS treated each eye individually with freshly sterilised instrumentation and new disposables for each eye (other centres use the same devices on both eyes!). Now with IntraLASE, the procedure uses mostly disposable instruments, further adding to safety. We are also well versed with dealing with complex patients who have been turned down by other centres or if treated have had poor outcomes. At Centre for Sight - We Look After You….

Our surgeons are all fellowship trained corneal and refractive surgeons and are themselves involved as trainers. Our surgeons are interested in satisfying your visual needs and perform a thorough (and sometimes lengthy) evaluation to ensure safety and accuracy of treatment. As a testament to our expertise we regularly look after patients who have had a less than ideal outcome from other centres.
Consistently good outcomes - our overall retreatment / enhancement rate is 2%. Following the introduction of Intralase and the IntraLASIK procedure, our enhancement rate has decreased further to 1% for myopia ! We constantly audit our refractive procedures. As an academic and training centre we present our work nationally and internationally.
Our surgeons, Centre for Sight and the Corneoplastic Unit are regularly featured in the press including national and international TV. Recent features have included Stem cell transplantation, eye laser surgery using Intralase, Crystalens implantation and use of Intacs in keratoconus. Since our medical director is a consultant to Bausch and Lomb we have the latest available technology available including Zyoptix wavefront used to customise treatments for each eye. All treatments are individually tailored to suit the patient based on their age, corneal shape, pupil size and level of correction. We also as mentioned have the only UK installation of Intralase - making us the most modern laser centre in the UK.IntraLASIK with the Zyoptix platform is a tremendous combination resulting in much better visual outcomes than traditional Lasik with a bladed microkeratome. At Centre for Sight if there is technology that we feel will be of benefit to our patients, we have not hesitation in investing.
