Centre for Sight is currently located at two sites, East Grinstead and London.

For your convenience Consultations and Free screenings for laser eye surgery are provided by our doctors in both London and East Grinstead. All laser eye surgery is performed at our Surgical facility at the internationally renowned Corneoplastic Unit, Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. Our sophisticated laser technology is located in East Grinstead within the hospital. We placed our surgical facility in this hospital location as a measure of safety and reassurance to our patients. This also places us in an academic environment under close scrutiny of our peers. Fellows at the Corneoplastic Unit also have the opportunity to observe and learn sophisticated techniques by providing care to eligible NHS patients. Although located in an NHS hospital we are also approved by the Healthcare Commission. |

Please be aware that the facilities are located in an NHS hospital and whilst not the most glamorous are excellent in terms of clinical care and delivery and many reports on advocacy sites like www.lasik-eyes.co.uk are testament to the standards provided.
Cataract, phakic implant and Corneal Transplantation procedures are also performed in East Grinstead at the BMI McIndoe Surgical Centre, a private hospital located within the grounds of the Queen Victoria Hospital.

Because of phenomenal growth, Centre for Sight has decided to move to larger premises in East Grinstead. Our goal was to establish a state of the art eye surgical facility that will be amongst the most modern in the UK and the world. The facilities have been designed architecturally to provide efficient and thorough eye care in a peaceful, modern and contemporary environment.

Yuli Toh of top London based architect firm, Toh Shimazaki was featured this month in leading architect magazine "Building Design".
Toh Shimazaki who have taken on the challenge of building our new state-of-the-art hospital are quizzed on how they find space for architectural expression in healthcare projects.
"We started out making new of refurbished public spaces at existing hospitals. But we now have the new-build Centre for Sight in East Grinstead under construction, where we're also designing for treatment and clinical programmes. The building will host private clinics previously held at the Queen Victoria Hospital, which is renowned for reconstructive surgery..."

| A brief to rethink a new eye surgery scheme has resulted in a non-invasive design that grows out of the contours of its secluded West Sussex site
Cedric Price famously maintained a long involvement with East Grinstead. He named the large, all-white room at the top of his office after the West Sussex town and retreated there when he wanted to work undisturbed. Anyone who called for him would be rebuffed by a simple statement of fact: “Mr. Price is unavailable; he is in East Grinstead.” |
