Some lenses however have not been able to provide satisfactory intermediate vision and often glasses are required for intermediate activities like computer work. There is now a solution and that is the introduction of FINEvision - another UK first at Centre for Sight.
NO Centre for Sight patients treated with FINEvision wear glasses anymore
This implant is a true "Multifocal" unlike some of the others which in reality are bifocal providing distance and near correction only. FINEvision works along similar lines but has an additional step for intermediate vision. Patients who have been treated obtain a full range of correction and are truly glasses free.
A recent audit of Centre for Sight FINEvision patients showed that 95% had binocular vision of 20/20 3 months post-surgery at distance with very good vision at near and intermediate. None wore glasses anymore.
Other features of the implant:
1)
Blue blocking pigment
-
filters harmful blue light from damaging the back of the eye
2)
Aspheric
-
Provides enhanced visual quality reducing glare
Suitability
Centre for Sight prides itself in customising procedures to suit the individual patient and choice is based on:
Patient needs - livelihood and activities
Ocular Health
Optical system
Corneal shape
Not all patients are suitable for FINEvision and other alternatives may be better. In order to determine the best choice, a complete consultation by a Centre for Sight Surgeon is necessary. Centre for Sight surgeons with their knowledge and training in refractive surgery and the Cornea are particularly skilled in assessing patients and selecting the appropriate procedure.
