2009 was a particularly special year for us. The highlight was undoubtedly moving into the Centre for Sight Flagship hospital in beautiful rural settings on the outskirts of East Grinstead, West Sussex (with lots of parking) - the end result of many dreams and a lot of hard work. |

Intralase iFS: like in 2004 when we introduced the first Intralase in the UK, at the beginning on 2009 we installed the first 5th Generation Intralase iFS. The higher speed and ability to perform stronger inverse cut flaps provided several advantages to our patients. |

Wavefront Aspheric treatments: The combination of Wavefront personalised treatments combined with Aspheric or Prolate profiles (at no additional cost) has provided a leap forward in terms of visual quality with our patients reporting a Wow with better quality vision after surgery without glasses or contacts than with optical aids before hand. CrystaLens HD Accommodative implant: Centre for Sight introduced the Crystalens HD lens to the UK. This accommodative lens provides the ability to see at distance, intermediate and near! Centre for Sight have provided Crystalens implants to patients since 2002 and thus amongst Europe's longest and largest provider of this technology. Centre for Sight results drew considerable interest and were presented at at the European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons Annual Meeting (ESCRS) in Barcelona 2009. |

Choyce Medal Lecture: In October our Medical Director, Mr Sheraz Daya, was honoured as Choyce Medal Lecturer 2009. Regarded as a highly prestigious award given once every two years, Mr Daya spoke about his work over the last 15 years as consultant and director the world renowned Corneoplastic Unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. |

The doctor's doctor: We have long been considered the "doctors' doctor", regularly treating doctors, optometrists and their close family. In November an ophthalmologist and founder of his own laser eye clinic in Norway (ABC clinics), travelled specially to the UK seeking our expertise and became the first doctor to be treated in our new hospital. |

We have big plans for 2010 too. The summer will see our third centre in the exclusive area of Oxshott opening. Construction is well underway and hopefully the move will go smoother than our last! |
