Yet another UK first = Centre for Sight in keeping with its leadership role has made considerable investment in the new iFS Intralase femtosecond laser. The installation is amongst the first two in Europe (the other in Germany).

The iFS has several advantages over the current 4th generation laser:

• FASTER - almost 3 times, flap creation is reduced from 30 seconds to less than 10 seconds, making the process quicker and safer with very short suction times on the eye.

• PERSONALISED FLAPS - Oval shaped flaps for those with astigmatism.

• BIOMECHANICAL - Reverse entry angle to maintain corneal and flap strength.
