IntraLASIK :

This is the basic procedure that is applicable in patients with low to moderate myopia and in whom there are no visually destructive aberrations (i.e. have not night vision issues or big pupils) and corneas thick enough to handle the treatment. Outcomes are excellent.

Zyoptix Tissue Savings IntraLASIK :

This more advanced treatment uses a more modern software package and has the advantage of removing LESS tissue (25 to 30% less) and delivers the treatment faster (two thirds quicker). The added cost is for the disposable used to set the laser to deliver the treatment.

Zyoptix Wavefront IntraLASIK :

This is a customized treatment used to treat the fine aberrations specifically in each eye. Each eye is unique in its wavefront profile. The main refractive error (Astigmatism and Myopia/Hyperopia) make up the majority of the wavefront deformation, however there are visually destructive high order aberrations that sometimes account for poor night vision or difficulty in obtaining perfect vision even with glasses. Patients with visually significant aberrations are identified at consultation. If the wavefront maps are accurate and the treatment is likely to be of benefit patients, then the consultant will make this recommendation. The treatment is more expensive as the process is more involved and again uses disposables to set the laser to deliver the treatment.

Iris recognition :

This is a system that is used to track the eye and ensure accurate placement of the treatment. It is vital for Zyoptix wavefront treatments and is only available when used in this mode. It also has the added security benefit of ensuring the correct eye of the correct patient is treated.
