Do you have a daily struggle with tired and persistently gritty eyes, itchiness, burning and pain? If so, this could be the cause of dry eyes.

Dry eye does is a very uncomfortable condition which left untreated gets progressively worse – and ultimately unbearable which is why many people seek for help.

Centre for Sight is pleased to introduce a new treatment called Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). This very futuristic treatment delivers a series of high intensity light pulses of multiple wavelengths to stimulate production of oils from the Meibomian glands. This we understand works by activating the nerve supply to the glands.

The treatment is completely pain free and only takes up to five minutes to complete per session. Although 3 treatments are recommended over a period of 6 weeks, many patients notice a difference in their eye comfort within a few hours to days following the first treatment.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Petra Bruckmuller from E-Swin visited Centre for Sight all the way from Austria to demonstrate to our whole clinical team in East Grinstead on how IPL works and allowed staff to try the treatment themselves.

Both Miss Marcela Espinosa-Lagana and our lovely receptionist Lynn had the procedure done and were pleasantly surprised that there was indeed no pain or discomfort and so quick.

IPL is another addition to the diagnostic and therapeutic armamentarium for dry eye at Centre for Sight. We do not believe any other centre in the UK offers all options available at Centre for Sight.
