Mr Sheraz Daya was presented with the Whitney G Sampson Lecture award by the President of CLAO (The Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists) Dr Deepinder Dhaliwal following the Whitney G Sampson Lecture.

The presentation covered innovative techniques involving quite challenging surgery the intent of which was to provide patients with better long term outcomes and survival of vision.

The title of the lecture curiously named “Corneal Crescents, Wedges and Patches “certainly piqued the interest of attendees who were treated to a series of videos and unusual techniques many of which were developed by Sheraz Daya to treat extremely difficult and challenging corneal problems.  Several have been published by Mr. Daya in the ophthalmic literature and in use by corneal surgeons internationally.

The Whitney G Sampson lecture, one of 9 eponymous lectures at the annual conference is sponsored by the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists (CLAO). The origin of the lecture is from Dr Whitney G Sampson who was honoured a lectureship in his name in 1988, for his outstanding contributions to Ophthalmology.
