Our Technology and Innovation is a winner!
100’s of businesses were nominated, but Centre for Sight wins the Technology and Innovation category at the Leatherhead and District Business awards 2013.
This is a first in the Uk for optometrists and opticians to watch 3D live VICTUS femtosecond laser cataract surgery and experience the surgeons view down the microscope.
“It is incredibly rewarding for everyone in the Centre for Sight team that the innovative work we do combined with provision of high quality safe patient care has been recognised and rewarded!” comments Maggie Middleton, our CEO, who was delighted to accept the award on Wednesday. “We have a truly fantastic team working at Centre for Sight – a part of our vision within the company is to encourage the introduction of new ways of working and latest technology to focus on sustainable strategy’s that improve our environment for future generations.” Here are the award highlights.
“The judges were impressed with the Centre’s ‘proven technological innovation and continuing development in sight care’”
We pride ourselves with being at the forefront of technology and innovation. Our ethos: Centre for Sight will invest in any technology that we believe is safer and helps provide more accurate outcomes for our patients.
We were the first to introduce Intralase blade-free LASIK laser eye surgery over eighteen months before any other UK provider, and last year we introduced the first VICTUS femtosecond laser to the UK shores. With the introduction of new technology, innovative techniques are discovered by our surgeons, ultimately creating a safe procedure, even safer.
This year, Centre for Sight’s innovation has been recognised at the ASCRS with two awards. Our own hospital is technologically designed to be energy efficient, and consequently won the 2012 Mid Sussex Design Award for the best Commercial Building.
“We invest in our patient care because we value our patient’s trust”
The Leatherhead and District business awards were organised by Prowse and Company in conjunction with Leatherhead and District Chamber of Commerce. The awards are now in their fourth year and with two extra categories, celebrate and recognise those businesses and people located in the area who have shown innovation and inspiration in their work.
