Sheraz Daya, Medical Director is attending the World Ophthalmology Congress 2014 in Tokyo, Japan this week. He will be speaking on various topics including Premium Cataract and Refractive Lens Replacement (RLR) surgery using the Victus femtosecond laser.

Additionally he will be introducing the Daya Cataract/RLR Summary which he has developed in collaboration with Nidek a manufacturer of sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic devices.

The Summary report will assist eye surgeons in making decisions about suitability of treatment, what type of high performance lens to use and in the case of Toric (astigmatic) lenses, how they should be oriented. The device for measuring the eye is the OPD 3 (pictured) which measures a number of aspects, including the power of the eye, corneal curvature, corneal topography, Wavefront, pupil size and astigmatism. “There is in effect a large amount of data generated by the device and understanding it all can be quite a challenge. What we have done at Centre for Sight is piece together the essential elements of what is required for Cataract and Lens Replacement surgery to tell a story which will guide the surgeon in making a decision both before and during surgery” says Mr. Sheraz Daya the developer of the Summary.

The report has been derived from the accumulated 12 year experience at Centre for Sight of implanting several thousand high performance premium lenses including Multifocal, Trifocal, Astigmatic and Crystalens lenses. Centre for Sight continues to demonstrate leadership in the area of Vision correction surgery with even more in the pipeline.
