Dr Sebastian Ho from Sutton had Laser Eye Surgery and is delighted with his results. He now has better than 20/20 vision.
Dr Sebastian Ho is an Orthopaedic Surgeon reliant on glasses ever since he was a teenager considered vision correction for a long time. Due to his nature of work with patients, he was terrified that something could go wrong and decided to have the deficits to his vision corrected.
What was your vision like before surgery?
I was fully dependent on my glasses for all activities, both work and recreational.
Being dependent on glasses did put some limitations on several activities, both at work and with hobbies. At work, my glasses sometimes steamed up or could slip during surgery.
As a Taekwondo practitioner, my poor vision put me at a disadvantage during contact sparring.
What is your vision like now?
My vision has improved significantly. Prior to the procedure, I was entirely dependent on glasses to function. However, two days after my eye surgery, I was back in the operating theatre doing my own trauma surgeries without any restrictions.
I am looking forward to returning to contact sports when lockdown eventually ends.
Taekwondo sparring and going travelling on trekking holidays is something I am excited to pursue again without the restrictions of having to rely on glasses.

What was your experience like at Centre for Sight?
I was very impressed with the entire process and service provided at Centre for Sight, particularly the efficient way they adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. Communication was very clear in all regards and there was no confusion throughout pre and post-op treatment.
The procedure itself was very quick and painless, with a rapid recovery phase such that I was back in trauma theatre operating 2 days later. Communication regarding appointments and follow up have been very clear and timely enough to book leave.
I am very satisfied with the entire experience and would certainly recommend them to any of my friends and colleagues who are thinking of getting rid of their glasses for good.
