An Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) — specifically the EVO Visian ICL — is a micro-thin lens placed inside the eye to correct refractive errors including long sightedness (hyperopia), short sightedness (myopia), and astigmatism. Unlike laser eye surgery, which reshapes the cornea, an ICL works by adding a corrective lens inside the eye without removing any corneal tissue. It is a particularly effective option for patients who may not be suitable for laser treatment due to thin corneas or a high prescription.
