Invest in Your Eyes

As an insured patient, each provider involved with your care will bill your health insurance company independently. Please do not quote the prices listed in any marketing material to them as it could cause confusion and affect your claim. Centre for Sight gives no preference to any one provider and cover is based on your individual policy.

Our consultants also contract with different insurance companies. For more details on which consultant is recognised by each provider, please visit our individual Surgeon pages.

You are required to contact your insurance company prior to consultation and any treatment, including surgery to gain their pre-authorisation. Centre for Sight is happy to provide assistance in making claims for surgery however must be provided with pre-authorisation. If you do not provide pre-authorisation, you will be charged directly and provided with a paid receipt.

Insurers

Please note that the amount covered by your insurance may not always match the full cost of your treatment at Centre for Sight. If there is any difference, you would be responsible for paying the remaining balance.

BUPA Healthcare Insurance – Cataract

Find out more about the BUPA Cataract Pathways

With the BUPA standard pathway, your surgeon sets their own fee based on their experience and expertise.

The total cost of your treatment is made up of two parts: a hospital (facility) fee and the surgeon’s fee. The hospital fee, which includes a standard monofocal lens, is usually covered and paid directly by BUPA to Centre for Sight.

BUPA will contribute towards the surgeon’s fee, but the amount covered depends on your individual policy and their agreement with the surgeon. If there is any difference between the surgeon’s fee and what BUPA pays, you would be responsible for covering the remaining balance.

Centre for Sight works in partnership with BUPA for patients who are eligible for the Full Cataract Pathway scheme. This is a fixed-price package that covers your hospital costs as well as the fees for your surgeon, and anaesthetist if needed. It also includes your consultations before surgery and follow-up care for up to 6 weeks after your procedure, along with a standard monofocal lens.

Centre for Sight Premium Package (Self-Pay)

Centre for Sight’s Premium Cataract Package includes additional advanced tests, not usually part of standard cataract care, to measure astigmatism and other visual factors. This helps your surgeon choose the most suitable lens for your eyes.

The package also includes a premium lens, laser-assisted treatment to correct astigmatism, and any extra follow-up visits you may need during your recovery.

If a small prescription remains after surgery, any additional laser vision correction required is included within the package.
