How soon can I drive after cataract surgery?

You should not drive on the day of surgery as you will have received sedation and your vision will be affected. Most patients can return to driving within 24 to 48 hours once their vision meets the legal standard for driving, which should be confirmed at your first post-operative appointment. If both eyes require surgery, the second eye is usually treated shortly after the first.
