Trusted as the UK’s longest provider of LASIK Laser Eye Surgery, and as a result of our advanced battery of testing and personalised treatment, Mr. Sheraz Daya was able to provide her with the vision correction she needed. Today, Chloe enjoys a life of newfound freedom and embraces each day with confidence.

What is Laser Eye Surgery?

Laser eye surgery reshapes the cornea using advanced laser technology to correct common vision problems such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. By carefully reshaping the corneal tissue, the procedure adjusts the way light enters the eye, ensuring it focuses properly on the retina. This precise correction significantly improves visual clarity, often reducing or even eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses.

The procedure itself is quick, typically taking less than 15 minutes per eye, and is performed under local anaesthetic using eye drops. Most patients experience rapid recovery and noticeable improvements in vision within 24 to 48 hours. With a strong track record of safety and effectiveness, laser eye surgery continues to be a popular and trusted option for those seeking long-term visual freedom.

In Chloe’s case, not only did she achieve 20:20 vision, but the procedure helped fix her eye turn.

“I had to put my thinking cap on—your prescription was very high. We have a process we follow, and I had to wait for all the testing information to come through, collate it, and ensure I had every bit of required data with the right exports before making a decision.”

Who is suitable for Laser Eye Surgery?

You are generally considered a good candidate for laser eye surgery if you meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: You are at least 18 years old (for career-specific needs) or otherwise 21 or older.
  • Refractive Error: You are nearsightedfarsighted, or have astigmatism.
  • Stable Vision: Your prescription has remained stable over the past 12 months, with less than a 0.50D change in that time.
  • Eye Health: Your eyes are healthy, and you do not have any autoimmune diseases.
  • Pregnancy and Nursing: You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

“Setting boundaries for treatments is an artform, and not everyone is suitable—but you happened to be. Your corneas were flat, so I could steepen them, and they were also quite thick, which gave me tissue to work with. You also had other complexities, and that’s part of the artform.”
